Excellent Drumming at Dixons Music Primary

Here we see another one of our brilliant drummers in year 2 accompanying Katie in year 13 as she learns a very difficult Bass solo to an unusual Flamenco backing. Our year 2 student also featured performing his rendition of a drum part to the Rockschool grade 4 piece ‘Noisy Neighbour’. Great music!

Great morning of drumming at Dixons Music Primary. Here we have another fabulous year 2 drummer playing along to one of the Rockschool grade 4 drum pieces ‘Attitude’. He will be playing this with another year 2 student at the DMP concert in December!

It has been another great day for our Ilkley students. I put Mal, one of our new Vocal Coaches, on the spot by asking her to accompany on the Guitar with one of our outstanding Year 10 students and I also asked Mal to impro some harmonies. Great rendition, first attempt! This particular student will be famous one day!!!

Wow ….look at the progress Reece in Year 3 is making on the Bass Guitar. Here he is in lesson 4 where he is using RH walking fingers, crossing strings and fretting LH on a C. One of our fantastic year 2 drummers has now perfected his rendition of a Rock School Grade 4 drum piece and will be playing it to the Chief Executive of the Dixons Group of Schools to try to earn the prestigious Chief Executive Award for Outstanding Musical Progress.

Reece aged only 7 did a great job of playing along to ‘Noisy Neighbour’ from the grade 4 Rockschool Drum book. He listened carefully to each section and played stylistically and sympathetically to the backing track. He did excellently on his first attempt! Check out the video.

It was another superb day of drumming for the Year 3 drummers at Foxhill Primary School. They are currently working on perfecting their piece for the Winter showcases they are involved in.
